It's an odd noise, the bag hitting the floor, but but Avery thinks it goes unheard. He's only been gone for a night, spending time with his grandparents and James, a London family day. "Not that your young men aren't family too," his grandfather had allowed, actually meaning it. "But I think they can fend for themselves." Avery had missed them, though the time had been short. In a lifetime, Avery had never liked crowds, and loud laughing families seemed like a crowd of their own, had quieted him, had kept him missing his boys. In a year, he'd forgotten that one person is enough for a bed, and the twin-sized mattress had seemed entirely too big, had swallowed him up, and Avery had been cold without any other bodies.

Avery set his keys down on the table, and Azizi on the floor. She toddled woozily over to the bunny on the sitting room floor and laid down on it, huffing softly and obviously ready for bed. Maybe Jake and Jack were already asleep. It was late. There was no reason to think they'd waited up for him. Avery's mouth twitched down, but there was still something to be said for crawling in between two bodies tonight.

When he got upstairs, it was still quiet. Actually, it was dead quiet, with not even the sighs and slight creaks of sleep. That was odd. And that was when the someone stepped into Avery from behind, pressed against him and clamped a hand over his mouth. Avery froze, and reached up to feel the bicep of the person holding him so tightly, and when it was allowed he slid his hand back to feel the neck. And then behind the ear. Suspicions confirmed when Jake shivered, Avery tried to turn and hug him, but Jake picked him up and, kissing his neck, carried him to the bed where another dark shape was waiting in the non-light. Jake laid him down and Jack pulled Avery's hair gently back from his face, the first touch in over a day. Avery sat up, not wanting to spoil the silence, and leaned against Jack, whose hand was now skimming down Avery's chest. "We missed you," Jake said, and Avery fancied that he saw two eyes shining in the dark before the shadows shifted and Avery heard his trousers being undone.

In the dark, everything was senses, and Avery's hips rolled just as silent as the long breaths that he took to keep from falling to pieces at the hot mouth and the kisses lavished on his neck. "Welcome home," Jack whispered, holding Avery around the chest with one hand. There was a mouth on his pulse point and a mouth on his cock, and Avery couldn't see either of his loves, but he knew that he was home, with just the right amount of people.

With them.
